TMIS
TMIS
TMIS is the prototype for a format-combusting architectural practice still in the process of defining itself. Born at ETH Zurich, based in Oslo and Zurich.
Our claim is simple: provide new tools for the 3D scanning of architectural elements that are often categorized as obsolete, abandoned, or considered construction waste, effectively contributing solutions for the decarbonization of the architecture industry. By capturing precise spatial and material data from these disregarded elements, we can evaluate their potential for adaptive reuse, repurposing, or material recovery and seamlessly integrate them within Solid Modeling CAD (Computer-Aided Design) or BIM (Building Information Modeling) softwares. This approach not only supports a more sustainable use of existing resources but also contributes meaningfully to the broader effort of decarbonizing the architecture and construction industries. By shifting the narrative around architectural obsolescence, we help uncover hidden value in what is typically discarded, paving the way for more circular and environmentally responsible building practices.
Please note that this website is under construction. Full deployment is scheduled for February 2026.
